Ms. Chesney focuses her practice in the area of family law. Her family law practice includes the areas of divorce, post-divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, parentage, domestic violence, guardianship, and adoption.
Ms. Chesney was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. She attended law school in Columbus, Ohio, where she was on the Law Review and worked at the National Center for Adoption Law and Policy, helping children and foster parents in the foster care system. Ms. Chesney returned to Iowa after law school and was admitted to the Iowa bar in 2005. She practiced law in Iowa for 12 years, first as a prosecutor and then at Iowa Legal Aid where she primarily practiced family law.
Ms. Chesney was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2017. She worked as the Executive Director of a local non-profit in Galesburg from 2017 to 2019 before returning to the practice of law.
