Ashley was born in Michigan and grew up around Grand Rapids, MI. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Physiology at Michigan State University in 2008, Ashley received her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2013. Ashley and her husband moved to Galesburg, Illinois, to begin the practice of law in 2013.

Ashley handles all aspects of family law, from simple, non-contested divorces and custody matters, to complex litigation. Her practice also includes alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and collaborative divorce. Ashley prides herself in providing a caring, cost-effective, and tailored approach to each family law client’s case. She can provide consulting services, assist with the development of a parenting plan, and explain the myriad of options available to individuals facing divorce or child-related disputes. She is a certified mediator for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Illinois, providing both court-appointed and private mediation services.

At both the trial and appellate level, Ashley represents clients charged with felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic offenses. Her trial experience includes representing individuals throughout West Central Illinois charged with sexual assault and abuse, DUI, drug-related offenses, battery, probation violations, etc. Ashley provides passionate and thorough representation, doing what it takes to ensure her clients obtain the best outcome possible.

Aside from family law and criminal defense, Ashley has experience in many other types of litigation, including personal injury, DCFS Appeals, court-appointed Guardian ad Litem work for minors and disabled adults, and immigration matters. She can prepare Form I-589 applicants for asylum interviews and accompany clients to interviews, as well. She has resources and experience with translating documents and completing international service of process.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys her community service involvement with the Noon Lions Club and the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Board of Directors. Ashley and her husband have three children, two dogs, and two cats. Whenever possible, she travels the world, engages in D.I.Y. crafts and projects, and enjoys reading about Abe Lincoln, Elvis, and Alexander Hamilton.
